Certified Traditional Birth Attendant

A traditional birth attendant is a skilled member of the community who is dedicated to safe birth practices and is trained to attend normal uncomplicated births. IRM values traditional birth attendants serving a large majority of the developing world as a reliable resource to women worldwide. It is our hope that by training well-equipped traditional birth attendants, we can reduce the maternal and newborn death rate around the globe.

This certification is reserved for indigenous Midwives and birth attendants in low resource and high risk settings.

• 20 primary births in global areas of high risk
• 50 prenatal exams in global areas of high risk
• 50 postpartum exams in global areas of high risk
• 20 Newborns exams in global areas of high risk
• Passing grade of 75% or higher on the IRM exam that covers CPR and Helping Babies Breathe protocol** 
• Passing grade of 75% or higher on the final exam**

Once approved, we will contact you with further instructions and to determine your income based exam fee that ranges from $20-100 USD.
