A traditional birth attendant is a skilled member of the community who is dedicated to safe birth practices and is trained to attend normal uncomplicated births. IRM values traditional birth attendants serving a large majority of the developing world as a reliable resource to women worldwide. It is our hope that by training well-equipped traditional birth attendants, we can reduce the maternal death rate around the globe. This certification is reserved for indigenous Midwives and birth attendants in low resource and high risk settings.
