“Supporting families in the joy of having a positive childbirth experience”
Becoming a birth doula provides you with the most fulfilling role — supporting people in experiencing the joys and hardships of bringing life into the world. As a doula you are given a unique opportunity to provide love, support and care to birthing people in their most vulnerable time in life.
Being a birth doula is more than encouragement or holding a hand during labor. Most of the actual work is done before labor ever starts! From understanding how to choose the right care provider, learning about options, preparing physically and emotionally for birth or managing unexpected events, a birth doula can provide educational and emotional support to the mother and family to prepare for a positive birth experience.
