As a midwife you are entrusted with the care of new life and the life that gives breath to it, IRM takes this to heart which is why it is our desire to raise the standard of midwifery care worldwide by certifying highly skilled and compassionate midwives that will serve as Humanitarian or Missionary Midwives.
Please note that while we have many CIM's practicing within developed nations, our aim is to certify Humanitarian and Missionary Midwives who specifically seek to serve in high risk areas and populations, improving Global Maternal Child Health.
Partial and full exam fee scholarships are available for applicants who are serving primarily in areas of impoverishment, crisis or high risk.
*Our birth count requirements have increased for new applications, effective 10/1/2019. If you contacted us prior to 10/1/2019 and were in the process of completing your application requirements, you will be grandfathered in under the old birth count requirements. Please contact us via email with questions.
The CIM, regardless of exam qualification entry route, must be renewed every 4 years. Renewal applications are emailed 6 months prior to your expiration date. Renewal requires proof of current BLS CPR and NRP/HBB, plus proof that you have obtained a Minimum of 60 CEU’s in the prior 4 years. CEU’s do not have to be from a specific organization but they must be Midwifery CEU’s and officially recognized in your country of primary practice. In addition to the CEU requirement, you must show proof of 2 peer review sessions.
Please reach out to us with any CEU related questions. The CIM renewal fee is $200 every 4 years and need based scholarships are available.
